The story of Hofseth starts in a rebuilt dairy plant in 2005, and have since become one of the largest salmon and trout processors in Europe, producing almost 200 million portions in 2023 alone and supply to a global customer base.
The plant holds certifications for ASC CoC, Global G.A.P CoC, MSC CoC, Kosher KF, Debio – Organic and IFS Food.
Their close proximity to the raw material gives them the opportunity to process, pack and get the fresh products in the air on the same day that it’s taken out of the sea.

Use Case: Transitioning from existing paper records to a fully digital system to streamline and centralising all information on one platform
The collaboration between Hofseth and Safefood 360° began with initial discovery in 2018, marking the beginning of a digital transformation journey towards enhanced operational efficiency. The implementation project took place during 2019, and since then, several successful implementations have taken place as new sites across Norway have transitioned.
Prior to 2019, Hofseth relied heavily on paper documentation, which not only created inefficiencies but also fostered an environment that was neither audit-ready nor conducive to effective collaboration among various departments.
This reliance on paper meant that accessing information was often cumbersome and time-consuming, leading to potential miscommunication and errors.
However, with the integration of Safefood 360°, one of the most significant enhancements has been the streamlined management of both existing records and new data entry. Tasks that were once labour-intensive and with high margin of human error have now been significantly optimized, allowing for greater accuracy and efficiency in operations.
The implementation of the software has significantly streamlined and enhanced Hofseth’s workflows, transforming the way the organization operates. Safefood 360° solutions empower Hofseth’s teams to effortlessly collect, monitor and analyse data across various departments across production, quality control, and operations, allowing a smoother and integrated approach to the business daily activities.
By centralising all information on a single platform, Hofseth can swiftly identify and address potential issues that may arise in the production line or during quality checks and take immediate corrective action to address any non conformances.
This proactive approach minimises downtime, ensuring that operations run smoothly and efficiently, while simultaneously boosting overall productivity.
Furthermore, the software’s intuitive interface ensures that employees across different departments can easily navigate and utilize the modules available to them. With shared insights readily available, teams work more effectively, leading to more effective teamwork and problem-solving.
With real-time reporting and improved data accuracy, Hofseth is now equipped to make informed and data-driven decisions based on up-to-date insights and latest trends.
